IMA Desktop Overview

The IMA Desktop is a simple but powerful tool that supports tasks such as scheduling, preparing and using treatment plans, writing progress notes, securing and tracking authorizations, billing and collecting fees, reporting to outside groups. As the practitioner schedules and serves the client, the system automatically collects the required data for later work with the client as well as for administration, billing, analysis and reporting.

The IMA Desktop is a comprehensive information system, structured in modules that match the functional needs of the organization - clinicians, support staff, administrators. The sharp focus of each module can mask currently extraneous or irrelevant data, yet display it when it is needed.

The IMA Desktop is designed for persons who want to focus on providing client care rather than on mastering complicated new computer skills. Display screens are clear and intuitive. The system is easy to learn, simple to operate and useful in a wide variety of situations. These principles are the cornerstones for our ongoing development of the IMA Desktop.

The following features insure that all human services professionals, regardless of previous experience, can use the IMA Desktop effectively in their daily activities.

  • Simple Displays All displays and menus are presented on clean, crisp and uncluttered screens displaying information and guiding the user.
  • Pop-up Help A Pop-up help window is always available to prompt the user and suggest possible correct responses.
  • English Language There is no mention of files, disks, hard drives or any other technical jargon anywhere in the system.
  • Validation Filters All entered data are validated against the data in the records and pre-defined criteria to avoid errors and ensure data integrity.
  • Discipline Specific Information Retrieval This allows each professional within the agency (such as psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, rehabilitation counselors) to retrieve client information in a customized format that is clinically meaningful to their profession.
With the IMA Desktop, human services professionals can improve the primary care they provide to the client, coordinate and communicate within their own agency, provide accurate billing, and prepare reports to outside groups without tedious re-keying.

To see how these features are implemented, take our IMA Desktop Tour.
